![]() ![]() ![]() To a degree, you know what you're getting with a King game, and These will be the moments where it's best to just put your phone down. It remains frustrating that there are moments where skill is almost irrelevant to progression, that you need random luck to have a favourable assortment of candy to begin with. You can be tapping away making good progress, the game's irrepressibly chirpy music weasling its way into your skull, and then waste all your lives on a single level after multiple tries. However, the randomness of the board layouts will remain anathema to some. A few minor adjustments, including a new cyan candy added to the mix and some modified power ups, add to the subtle differences the game offers. All these are packed on onto bigger game boards that scroll through screens - another Diamond Digger similarity - as you chase your targets. The first sees you raising the bear above a certain level the second has bears of different sizes encased in ice, needing the entire area cleared to free them the last has them buried under honey. "Bubble Bear", "Frosted Bear", and "Honey Bears" all offer variants on freeing gummy bears. The most basic, "Soda", is just about flooding the board, while in "Chocolate" you have to remove chunks of choc with greater urgency than the other pieces. King have remixed the game modes for Soda Saga, rather than just placing a new candy in the same old wrapper. ![]()
